This was one of the beers the Belgian monks would exist on during their month long fasts. This was liquid bread to them. Spices like pepper and clove mingle with citrus fruits in the nose, with a soft, rounded grainy-sweet malt similar to honey. This is a higher octane beer, with the spicy/fruity yeast character rounded off by the malt that finishes dry. Add the tart and sweet of the raspberries, and we're playing with fire.
